Bryce is for Lovers

Bryce is for Lovers

Bryce has this magical shot you can get if you're up before dawn and conditions are right. People who follow this blog can guess what happened: I got up before sunrise, and everything was super cloudy. Socked in, not a trace of color in the sky. Waited until sun crossed the horizon, and still nothin'. So, I went back to bed, and got this shot instead for what I saw for when I got to sunrise point.

  1. Something similar happened to me at Death Valley. Up at dawn for the light over the dunes. The sun starts to paint the western wall of the valley. The line of light sweeps down towards the sand. And just at the minute where the sun comes up, a cloud appears out of nowhere (A cloud? This is Death-with-a-capital-D Valley, dammit) and covers up the sun for the next twenty minutes. Argh.

  2. Yeah, I think for landscapes, you really have to love nature enough to be out there day after day, over and over.
