We reached Lake Powell, the world's second largest manmade lake and another national park area. If the hoodoos of Bryce were reminiscent of Mars, Lake Powell was more like a blasted moonscape -- sterile, monolithic forms with dusty beaches and a mirror-like surface to the lake.
At this point, we bit the bullet and bought an annual pass to the national park system. Bonus: If you had already paid for earlier park visits, they applied that as a credit towards the cost of the actual pass.
